Vaccination certificate to expire after 7 months if no booster shot, says Greek minister

The vaccination certificate after a full vaccination with 2 doses will expire after seven months of the holder does not get administered the booster shot, Greece’s Health Minister Thanos Plevris said on Thursday.

Speaking to Skai TV, Plevris said that authorities have “almost taken the decision” and that the official announcements will be made after the New Year.

The expiration period will affect all citizens and not only people over 60 years old as it was decided in November.

The health minister said also that the government is currently examining to expand the mandatory vaccination to citizens over 50.
At the same time, Plevris stressed that it is mainly the younger generations infected with the covoronavirus nowadays.
Greece is experiencing a spike of Covid-19 infections since the start of the week and the government is running behind the developments, rushing to take measures to contain the spread.

  1. Don’t worry, the Greek Government is running behind the development of the omicron variant, even though Greece had intel from Botswana, South Africa, the UK……that cases would dramatically increase…and that the symptoms resemble a cold. Maybe the government needs to boost its resilience operations and horizon planning as they seem to be behind the curve before pursuing “mandatory” policies.

  2. Is this to allow people to go to restaurants, bars, etc.? Or is this also for travellers from abroad? That would be strange, as the EU only last week agreed that vaccine certificates stay valid for 9 months.

  3. So government now joined anti vaxxers. Just a few months ago, even suggesting this , would get you censored on most sites.

What is next? “Booster” shot every 6 months? No, we need even more powerful “nitro” shots, followed by uber ultra super boost!

  4. I am over 60. I had my two pfizers and each time the reaction increased, so my arthritis flared up far worse each time. I def wont be getting another pfizer. My health cant take it. Its no fun living for years with arthritis pain permanently caused because of vaccines cutting oxygen killing my bones. Covid is not going to last but my pain will. I would rather not go to restaurants. And i find the idea of a fine absolutely vile, anti Christian, anti choice just plane bullying.

  5. At the moment if you have a temporary AMKA number starting with the number 9 due to a system fault Booster vaccines cannot be dded to your vaccine certificate and KEP are unable to do anything at the moment so if your certificate expires after 7 months what happens to all these people
