The overwhelming majority of Greece’s regional units have been marked in the highest level on the pandemic scale, the “deep red” as the latest weekly update of the COVID-MAP on January 20, shows.
With the exception of one regional unit in north-eastern Greece all others in the mainland are on the highest level of coronavirus infections. The situation seems to be better on the islands of the central Aegean Sea where some of them are marked “green”, that is with the lowest level on the infections scale.

While the daily infections are decreasing in the last couple of days, the number of daily deaths remains high and so is the number of intubated Covid-patients putting pressure on the public health care system.
