Schools, kindergartens in Attica & other regions closed Jan 24-25 due to snow weather; distance learning

Primary and secondary schools as well as pre-schools and kindergartens in Athens and Attica will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday, January 24-25, due to the second wave of the snow weather.

The regional government of Attica took this decision on Sunday afternoon for “preventive reasons, for the safety of pupils and teachers.

The regional government said it took this decision in consultation with mayors and meteorologists who forecast that the cold snap will start on Monday morning and will be fully developed on Tuesday, with low temperatures and dense snowfalls.

Note that due to the coronavirus protocols in education facilities, windows in classrooms have to be open.

Meanwhile, media report Sunday evening, more local authorities decided to shut down schools in several areas across the country due to the frost conditions. among those areas are Evia, Fthiotida, Kilkis, Crete, Cyclades, etc More details in Greek here.
