Eight alleged members of the anarchist group Rouvikonas, who had been detained in connection with the attack on a building of Attiki Odos, the Greek Police announced on Tuesday. The building on Mesogion Avenue was attacked with sledgehammers in the early morning hours.

“In the early morning hours of today, on Mesogion Avenue in the Agia Paraskevi district, eight people were brought in and subsequently arrested as they had earlier caused unprovoked damage to facilities and vehicles of Attiki Odos in the Koropi area,” a police announcement said.
Earlier, in a media post on an anti-establishment website, Rouvikonas had claimed responsibility for the attack in which a group of men damaged offices and cars belonging to Attiki Odos at exit 4 of the motorway in Koropi.
In separate incidents also on Tuesday morning, the homes of a host of a private TV morning show and of a police unionist came under attack
CCTV footage of the attack on the home of journalist Dimitris Kambourakis showed a hooded and masked figure placing an explosive device made of small cooking gas canisters outside his apartment building in the quiet southern suburb of Argyroupoli at around 2.30 a.m.
At around the same time, a similar homemade bomb went off in the central Athens district of Kypseli, outside the home of the president of the union of special police guards, Vassilis Doumas.
