“Repeated vaccinations are not a viable strategy, reservations on 4th dose,” says Greece’s Vaccination Committee

“Repeated vaccinations are not a viable strategy against Covid-19 and the booster shot does not build a wall of immunity,” the president of Greece’s National Vaccination Committee, Professor Maria Theodoridou, said on Tuesday evening.

During the Live Briefing, Theodoridou expressed also reservations about the fourth dose of vaccination.

Speaking about the course of the national vaccination campaign against the coronavirus, Theodoridou said that the effectiveness of the third dose (booster shot) of the vaccine is of the order of 50% in terms of the disease, a criterion for designating a vaccine as effective for the FDA.

“What has disappointed us is that the vaccine cannot build its wall of immunity and stop the transmission,” she stressed adding that “while the vaccine according to research is effective and can protect the body from the virus.”

In terms of mortality, the third dose of the vaccine protects by 95% after two weeks of administration, the corresponding percentage with two doses of the vaccine amounts to 59%, Theodoridou said also.

She pointed out that “scientists are skeptical about the administration of a fourth dose,” emphasizing that “repeated vaccinations in such a short period of time are not a viable strategy.”

“This is not a solution. The big stake to have vaccines that stop the transmission of the virus,” Theodoridou explained. Coting WHO she added that “the increase in the doses of the initial vaccines will not stop the new strains.”

Referring to Long-Covid syndrome and the vaccines, professor Theodoridou said that there are still insufficient data.  However, “people with two doses are 50% less likely to develop this syndrome,” she stressed. (source: libre.gr, ethnos.gr and others)

  1. so explain somehow what’s the point of these totalitarian ‘certificates’ ?

    • These certificates are not a measure to stop the spreading of the virus and to avoid severe sickness or death. They are not a measure, they were the goal in itself. See my comment in the Novavax article of earlier today.

      • Nothing “stops” the spread of the virus except isolation. Other measures “reduce” the rate of spread. Vaccination does reduce the rate as does mask wearing, social distancing etc. A mixture of measures are necessary to reduce the “rate” of spread to a level that doesn’t present a threat to the health of the country. Which measures to employ is a balance between their effectiveness and their economic costs.

It should be noted that the article is talking about not administering a 4th dose to the wider population in a short time span. It is likely that annual vaccination for the most vulnerable groups will become the norm as it is with flu.

      • What you say is true, but most people are totally unaware and even if they were, would choose not to believe it. It’s a frightening prospect and how hard to fight against it. There are some very powerful people who want this for the future.

  2. And an AMKA number was never necessary for vaccination, but is a perfect way to identify those who have not taken the QR shot. See also my comment in the Novavax article.
    😎.
