Greece’s health authorities announced on Monday 18,855 coronavirus cases and 109 deaths in past 24 hours. Seven more deaths from previous days were incorporated today. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals decreased further to 549.
Thousands fewer tests due to the weekend.
Deaths due to Covid-complications remain alarmingly high in the country.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 2,066,696 infections (daily change: +0.9%). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 381 infections are related to travel from abroad and 2,350 to other confirmed cases.
Rolling average: 17,900 from 18,269 last week.
Rt: 1.01 from 0.95 last week.
109 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, brought the the total of pandemic victims to 24,210*. Of these, 95.1% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

549 Covid-patients from 551 a day earlier are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 66 years, 61% are men and 84.5% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total in intubation, 427 (77.78%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 122 (22.22%) are fully vaccinated.
4,095 have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
364 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -10.12%), while the daily average of admissions over the last 7 days was 467.
The median age of new infections is 35 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

I am sure a few readers have noticed the extraordinary high deaths in Greece. My take from this is only go to a Greek hospital as a last resort as you have a greater chance of coming out with a toe tag than many other countries.
