Greece’s health authorities announced on Tuesday 22,889 coronavirus cases and 108 deaths in past 24 hours. Four more deaths from previous days were incorporated today. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals decreased further to 524.
The number of daily covid-related deaths remain over 100 and people seek explanations.

108 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, brought the the total of pandemic victims to 24,322*. Of these, 95.1% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

524 Covid-patients from 549 a day earlier are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 66 years, 61.1% are men and 84.7% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total in intubation, 407 (77.67%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 117 (22.33%) are fully vaccinated.
4,106 have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
424 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: +16.48%), while the daily average of admissions over the last 7 days was 462.
The median age of new infections is 35 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

I have no proof of this but i am wondering if the deaths are so high in Greece because of the Governments policy of suspending front line health workers without pay since September, who do not wish to have the vaccination. As far as I know the mandate for health workers in the UK has been stood down.
I know a health worker who stopped working because he didn’t have his vaccine. However, he now caught Covid and can go back to work with a Covid recovery certificate. I was surprised about that.
