Greece’s health authorities announced on Wednesday 15,557 coronavirus cases and 57 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients has decreased further to 399.
On Tuesday, March 1, the daily coronavirus cases were 17,176, the number of deaths 54, while 408 patients were in intubation.
The Health Ministry announced the lifting of mandatory use of masks outdoors as of Saturday, March 5, 2022. An hour later, state ERT TV reported that there are second thought the lifting may take place after the Clean Monday, March 7.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 2,454,329 infections (daily change: +0.6%).
In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 295 infections are related to travel from abroad and 1,805 to other confirmed cases.

57 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours brought the total of pandemic victims to 25,972. Of these, 95.1% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
399 patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 67 years, 63.7% are men and 89.7% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total in intubation, 287 (71.93%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 112 (28.07%) are fully vaccinated.
4,279 have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
281 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -6.02%). The average daily admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 290.
Admissions below 300 for the first time since Nov 2, 2021.
The median age of new infections is 35 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 79 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Of the 15,557 new coronavirus cases, 36 were detected at the entrance gates of the country and 4 among travelers already in Greece.
