From Prison to ICU: Golden Dawn leader intubated following Covid-19 infection

Convicted Golden Dawn leader and founder Nikos Michaloliakos has been intubated due to Covid-19 infection. He is currently in the ICU of the university hospital of Larissa, where he was transferred from prison.. The man who has underlying health issues was not vaccinated against the virus.

Mihaloliakos was transferred to the University Hospital in Larissa, central Greece, on Thursday and was immediately intubated.

His health condition is “critical,” some media report early Friday evening.

According to media reports, he developed mild symptoms a week ago and his health deteriorated on Tuesday He was initially transferred from the prison to the hospital in Lamia and from there to the one in Larissa.

The 64-year-old Michaloliakos has not be vaccinated against Covid-19, despite the fact that he belongs to high risk groups.

He has diabetes and overweight and is a heavy smoker, Mega TV and news247.gr reported.

Infected with Covid-19 is also the former No 2 of neo-nazi GD, 60-year-old Christos Pappas, who serves his sentence in Domokos prison too.

The end of GD came in October 2020 when all high-ranking members and former MPs were convicted for the establishment of a criminal organization.
