Greece’s health authorities announced on Friday 4,493 new coronavirus cases and 17 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid-patients intubated in hospitals ICUs across the country has decreased to 110.
A total of 3,492,268 infections (daily change: +0.1%) have been confirmed in Greece since the start of the pandemic in February 2020.

Of the total infections on Friday, reinfections are estimated at 559 in the last 24 hours, while their total since the pandemic began is estimated at 140,705 (3.9 pct of the total positive results).
Infections rolling average: 3,939 (3,526 previous week).
17 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours and 4 deaths form previous days brought the total of pandemic victims to 29,997. Of these, 95.6% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
110 patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 70 years and 91.8% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total in intubation, 51 (46.36%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 59 (53.64%) are fully vaccinated.
4,696 Covid-patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
86 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -15.69 pct). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 91.
The median age of new infections is 37 years (range: 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of the deceased is 80 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Weekly Positivity Rate announced by EODY on June 8 was 4.88% in a total of 570,363 laboratory tests (RT-PCR / Rapid-Ag. However, in some islands it showed “red” reaching up to 22.91% and even 23.4%.
