Α new case of child pimping has been discovered on Tuesday, with the victim being a 14-year-old living in a home for minors in a suburb of southern Athens.
It was social workers who noticed that the child was leaving the facility and was absent for several hours.
Last Sunday the girl left the facility Sunday noon, returned Monday morning and left again on Monday evening, media report.
One social worker was informed by a friend of the girl, also a minor, that the absent girl had met a man in his 30’s and she was “going out” with him.
The social workers alerted the police that it located the girl in a car together with three men, aged 29, 24 and 25.
Investigation also in to the men’s mobile phones showed that the girl was sexually abused and filmed by the three men who have been arrested on felony charges.
They denied the charges accusing for the crimes of sexual abuse of a minor and pimping a fourth person, a 30-year-old one, currently sought by the police..
The girl was reportedly abused in a hotel in Metaxourgeio district of Athens, and would receive 100 euros per customer.
The pimp has reportedly convinced the girl to leave the facility and move with him to a home in Elefsina, western Attica. He was supplying the girl with clothes and underwear.
It is the second case of a minor’s pimping in Athens since August 2022, when a “respected family man” was raping and pimping a neighborhood 12-year-old girl. Investigation in this case seems to stagnate as from the initially over 200 contacts to customers on the victim’s phone, only 10-12 have been arrested, so far.
