As temperatures rise and summer will arrive -sooner or later, more and more people are rushing to the beaches for a swim and a sunbathe. But how much is does the refreshing break cost in an organized beach with sunbeds, umbrellas, snack bar and sanitary facilities?

There cheap and not so cheap organized beaches near Athens, next to the free beaches where you have to bring your own coffee, water, snacks, umbrella, sunbed/chair and beach towel.

Note that organized beaches charge a higher price on weekends, while there is usually a special discount for people with disabilities and seniors over 65 years old.

According to a report by state broadcaster ERT about some indicative prices for municipality beaches:

Alimos beach: entrance is 6 euros and 2 euros for a sunbed, while on weekends entrance rise to 8 euros.

For the sunbed, the reduced ticket is 3 euros, while free entry is for citizens.

Vouliagmeni: entrance at 10 euros, discount ticket at €5. Entrance is free for children up to 5 years old and people with disabilities.

Cost for sunbeds on weekdays is €20-30, while on the weekend it ranges from €30-40, depending on the position one wants to choose. If you want to be in front of the sea, a little further back or just on the weekend, its price rises to 30 to 40 euros. A coffee is at 4 euros, a mixed juice at 6.5 euros and a club sandwich at 15 euros.

Kavouri beach: the cost for the sunbed set reaches 14 euros, while the price for a scoop of ice cream costs 3 euros and the granita 4 euros.

Note that there are several organized beaches along the Athens Riviera up to Cape Sounion and beyond, many of them private with prices reaching 100 euros for sunbeds for two and up to €180 over the weekends.

At the same time, there are lots of free beaches, many of them in better situation than years ago, as municipalities have planted trees for shadow and have chemical WCs.

Worth noting is also that there are beaches with easy access to people with disabilities(Details here). and some of them are free of charge like the Blue Flag beach at Glyfada suburb.

Note that the clean beaches report is expected in the following days, and we may return to the topic with a new post.
