PASOK leadership challengers rise to five

  • Pavlos Geroulanos – MP, ex Culture Minister
  • Michalis Katrinis MP
  • Milena Apostolaki MP

Former MP and Education Minister Anna Diamantopoulou as well as MP Nadia Giannakopoulou did not rule out to join the race.

Until upcoming September, when the deadline for leadership candidates’ submissions expire, their number may have certainly increased.

Androulakis proposed that the leadership contest, originally scheduled to take place at the end of 2025, be advanced to October 6 this year. A second round will take place October 13, if no candidate obtains the absolute majority of votes in the first round.

Senior and young PASOK officials but also supporters and voters challenged the leadership of Androulakis after the party did not manage to win second position in the European elections beginning of June.
