Guards at the site of the Acropolis and all archaeological sites and museums using electronic tickets will hold a four-hour warning strike from 8:00 to 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 24, 2024, they said today, Wednesday.
Their union PEYFA said that the work stoppage was decided to protest a decision by the government and the archaeological resources fund (ODAP, former TAP) to call for tenders for a private company to assume the checking of tickets at the site of the Acropolis.
PEYFA said they had held “two successful strike actions in December 2023 and January 2024. But despite the reactions the government and the ODAP management proceeded with their plans,” and it called against the privatization of public archaeological sites and museums.
