The coolest day of the last 46 days was today, Wednesday, August 21 with maximum recorded temperature just 36.3 degrees Celsius.
The drop in temperature was recorded by the network of automatic weather stations of meteo service of the National Observatory of Athens.

As shown in the map above, the highest temperature on Wednesday, August 21, was recorded in Sparta and was equal to 36.3 °C.
In addition, the average maximum temperature in the country was equal to 30.2 °C, while only 4 of the 496 active stations (currently) recorded temperatures above 35 °C, thus recording the coolest day in the last 46 days – that is since July 4-5, 2024, meteo.gr noted.

I supposed Greek meteorologists were fed up to issue heatwave warning and therefore we have been boiling like crabs in hot water in the last ten days, with temperatures 40-41 degrees Celsius every afternoon, my balcony in south Athens has been claiming.
