Greece will offer Golden Visa not only for investment in real estate but also for Greek startups, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced from the stage of the International Fair of Thessaloniki on Saturday.
The amount asked for the investment in startup is much lower than the one for real estate.
The five-year residence permit to 3rd countries nationals in startups is reportedly set at at least 250,000 euros.
PM Mitsotakis did not elaborate but it is expected that the investment alternative will be specified soon.
According to some media information, the measure is expected to be in effect as of January 1, 2025.
So far, the granting of Golden Visa is linked to the real estate with the investment fund to have been raised from €500,000 to €800,000 in popular areas of Greece such as capital Athens as well as in areas of high touristic interest since September 1.
The new Golden Visa investment precondition is thought as a measure to lower real estate prices in the country.
