Thousands pupils and students gathered in Greece’s school courtyards on Wednesday for the traditional, religious blessing ceremony on the start of the new school year.
School year 2024-2025 starts with a novelty that students will have to keep their mobile phones in their bags during classes and breaks otherwise they will be punished.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education will provide a panic button to pupils and students who fall victims of bulling at schools.
The “panic button” application is, however, installed on the mobile phone.

The school year does not start with the best perspectives:
Teachers are up in arms with the Education Ministry due to class and department mergers, low wages and last minute information to supplementary teachers where they will teach the next morning.
