Traffic ring restrictions in central Athens, in an area known as the “daktylios” (ring), resumed on Monday, October 14, 2024, and will remain in effect until Friday, July 19, 2025.
From Mondays through Thursdays (07:00-20:00) and on Fridays (07:00-15:00) cars will only be able to enter central Athens on alternate days according to the odd-even system.
Car licenses ending in odd number plates are allowed access when the date is odd and cars with even number plates when the date is even.
On Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, as well as on days when workers in all Public Transport means are on strike the measures do not apply.

The restrictions do not apply to “green” cars and those with special permits for example “permanent residents inside the ring area.”
Special permits can be obtained 1) electronically at gov.gr and Gov.gr Wallet or 2) submit application at the headquarters of the Attica Traffic Directorate [Th. Diligianni 24-26, Daktylio Office on the ground floor of the building (entrance from Samou Street), tel. 210-5284142, e-mail: [email protected]] Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 14:00 & Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00.
