A consumer in Greece found a dead mouse in a package of frozen spinach he had purchased in a supermarket in August.
A consumer was upset when he saw a dead mouse in a package of frozen spinach, of a well-known Greek company, that he got from the supermarket.
He made a denouncement to the Greek Food Authority (EFET) and well as to websites dealing with food safety.
He said that he was shocked to find half a frozen mouse clearly visible among the lumps of frozen vegetable leaves. He took a piece of paper and removed the mouse from the spinach to make sure that his eyes were not …”deceiving” him.
The consumer decided to make his complaint by name after he explained that he could not find a solution with the company’s managers.
“In summer, I bought a package of spinach from a well-known brand, and when I opened it to cook it, I found half a frozen mouse inside! I contacted the company, of course, the company said that it is not ours, it was found somewhere, someone put it in. I had to file a complaint with EFET,” he added.
He stressed that he has been waiting since August for an answer from EFET to be able to take legal action.
This particular brand is sold in many supermarkets throughout Greece, daily ethnos.gr and proson.gr reported.
