Athens taxi drivers on 6h work stoppage next week

The Board of Directors of the Taxi Drivers’ Union of Attica (SATA) has decided to launch a 6-hour work stoppage on upcoming Thursday, January 23, 2025.

The work stoppage is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.

The SATA decision was taken during a meeting where the draft law on the new Road Traffic Code was discussed.

By unanimous decision, the SATA board decided to escalate efforts to ensure the use of bus lanes at least by loaded taxis.

Taxis drivers also plan a gathering of their vehicles  at 09:30 am at the junction of Spyros Patsis Street and Athens Avenue. This will be followed by a march to the Ministry of Transport, while a petition with the demands of the sector will be delivered.
