The Civil Protection sent early Saturday evening weather ALERT messages via the emergency line <112> to the mobile phones of residents and visitors in four Ionian islands, the western and southern Peloponnese as well as western Sterea and the coasts of Epirus.
The Ionian islands are: Zakynthos (Zante), Kefalonia, Lefkada and Ithaki.

The messages warn locals of heavy rainfalls and storms from early evening hours of Saturday (February 15) until at noon on Sunday (February 16).
The messages urge people to be careful when they move during the intense weather phenomena and to follow the instructions of the authorities.
