Posts on the social media inciting violent actions the day of Tempi rallies on 28 February, has triggered the prosecutor’s intervention on Sunday.
The head of the Prosecutor General’s Office Aristides Koreas ordered a preliminary examination into the crime of incitement to commit criminal acts.
By order of the Prosecutor, the Electronic Crime Squad was assigned to identify the users who made the specific posts.
According to some media, the said posts were uploaded by anonymous and eponymous Greek users.
The families of the 57 victims of the train collision in Tempi, unions of the private and public sector, students and pupils organizations and large parts of the society will get together two years after the Tempi tragedy and join their voices on Friday, February 28, to commemorate the victims and demand for justice.
Polarization at political and social level has sharply increased in recent days as investigation is moving on turtle’s pace and seven in ten Greeks believe that there has been a government attempt to cover-up responsibilities.
Rallies have been organized in over 200 cities and towns in Greece and over 40 abroad.
