Greek Air Force drops food supplies to Gaza

Τwo cargo planes of the Greek Air Force dropped 8.5 tonnes of essential food supplies onto areas of Gaza on Saturday morning.

The operation was carried out following the cooperation and coordination of the Greek foreign and national defense ministries with Jordanian authorities.

The food aid was transported to the designated drop zones within the Gaza Strip in two HAF cargo planes, a C-130H and C-27J, and their crews, as well as personnel from the Special Warfare Command.

The operation was constantly monitored in real time by the National Operations Center.


“The operation was organized in collaboration with the countries of the European Union and the Middle East and its aim is to support the basic needs of the people in this war-torn region,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on a post in social media.

He added that “Greece will continue to take initiatives for the immediate cessation of hostilities, the release of hostages, and the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. It is our collective duty to bring an immediate end to human suffering.”
