Greece’s National Meteoro9logical Service EMY issued a Red Alert Bulletin warning of extreme weather phenomena to hit the country starting on Tuesday, November 25, and lasting until Friday, November 28, 2025.
The bad weather front will bring heavy rainfalls and storms, locally hail and very strong winds.
Below the meteo map shows the regions where intensive weather phenomena and high volumes of rains are forecast November 25-27.

Civil Protection: Regions in Red Code State
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has placed the regions of the Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Greece, and the Peloponnese, as well as the municipalities within these Regions, in a RED CODE state of alert from Wednesday until Friday, following an upgrade by the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) of its Hazardous Weather Bulletin and the recommendation of the Risk Assessment Committee.
Sources from the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection clarified that additional regions of the country may also be placed in a state of alert (RED CODE) on Wednesday.
Regions in Epirus already damaged
The bad weather front already hit the West of Greece two days ago with a very high volume of rainwater to have caused severe damages in Tzoumerka villages by Arta, where a dozen families remain trapped in their homes as they can not leave due to infrastructure collapse.
EMY RED ALERT
Rains and storms will initially affect the west and northwestern part of the country.
A. Tuesday, November 25: rains and storms will intensify as of Tuesday afternoon and in the northern Ionian Sea (mainly the Corfu region) and Epirus (mainly coastal areas) will be locally strong.
Wednesday, November 26: heavy rains and storms are expected:
a. In the Ionian islands of Corfu, Diapontio islands and Paxos and in Epirus.
b. From the afternoon in Lefkada, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Zakynthos, Aitoloakarnania, western and southern Peloponnese.
c. From the evening in eastern Macedonia.
B. A weather system named ADEL will cause heavy rains and storms on Thursday and Fridy, November 27-28, accompanied by local hail and at times very strong winds, in many areas of western and northern Greece as well as in the eastern Aegean Sea.

On Thursday heavy rains and storms are expected:
In the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western and central Sterea, western and southern Peloponnese, central and eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
On Friday heavy rains and storms are expected in central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace, eastern Aegean and until early morning in western Greece.
