Greece donates and transfers military equipment to Lebanon

The transfer of military equipment to Beirut, provided as a free donation from the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Lebanon, took place on Thursday.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, the transfer was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of Greece’s defense diplomacy efforts.

A Navy transport ship delivered 13 M113 armored personnel carriers, 10 Steyr 680M 2.5-tonne general-purpose vehicles, as well as supporting materials and spare parts, to the port of Beirut, where they were handed over to the Lebanese authorities.

It s recalled that the free donation of military equipment follows a meeting between the Greek Defense Minister with his Lebanese counterpart.
