According to a statement by the Greek Civil Protection the state of emergency has been declared for three months, until May 11, 2026.
The decision follows a request by the Municipality of Aegina after a damage in the undersea freshwater pipeline that supplies the island from the mainland in December and the contaminated water from the boreholes as recent analyses have shown.
The state of emergency, in fact, allows accelerated administrative and financial procedures to repair the damages.
