Brad Pitt is filming on the iconic Greek island of Hydra

Hollywood start Brad Pitt landed on the island of Hydra on Thursday for shooting some scenes of his latest film “the Riders”.

He is accompanied by four “doubles”, a stuntman and a big number of production staff.

Not many details of the plot were made public other that it is a contemporary film about a missing wife, Greek media reported.

Brad Pitt’s partner Ines de Ramon is on Hydra, too.

State-broadcaster ERT, spoke with a local shoemaker and a fisherman who will will play in the film, while another 150 locals will participate, too.

Shooting started already on Friday morning, with the actor to appear relaxed and approachable, greeting reporters, local residents and visiting bystanders with a “Hello, guys!”

The first day of the shooting took place at the School of Fines Arts. The scene features Brad Pitt moving around inside and out onto a balcony, enhancing the sense of everyday life.

The production transforms the cosmopolitan and picturesque Hydra into a living, international-scale cinematic set with meticulous detail.

Brad Pitt presence in Greece has triggered the high interest of local morning Lifestyle Magazines on TV that have sent reporters to Hydra who are chasing any detail of big or minor interest, such as that the Hollywood star accommodates in a villa owned by a well-known businessman. “He stays in a villa, not in hotel, in a villa!!!” a magazine presenter shouted thrilled.

The production has imposed strict security measures, while the filming of the film will last until early March, most likely until March 5, 2026.

The menu that the production has requested to include the daily catering is for 250 people and they prefer Greek flavors and healthy meals.

Finally, it was pointed out that the island is sold out for the three-day period of Clean Monday, noting that there are many carnival events there.

US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, is expected to travel to Hydra tomorrow Saturday to meet with the popular actor.

It should be noted that due to long weekend because of the Last Carnival Sunday and the following Clean Monday on February 23, the island is sold out and there is a sailing ban for Friday, February 20, due to the high winds.
