Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Thursday the increase the minimum wage in Greece to €920 gross, a raise of €40 per month from last year’s hike.
Announcing the measure at the cabinet meeting, the PM said that it is the sixth raise in a row since new Democracy came to power in 2019, when the minimum wage was at 650 euros.
Effectively the raise of 40 euros translates into €25 per month net and to €35 for young workers up to 25 years old.
The measure will go into effect as of April 1, 2026, Mitsotakis said.
The government goal is that the minimum wage rises to 950 euros gross by 2027.

Currently in the UK for someone over 21 it is around €2,400 based on a 40 hour week.
