The famous Greek delicacy Souvlaki, the soft pita bread tenderly hugging chunks of meat or chicken, tomato, onions and garlic sauce , enters a new era: a special edition for left-handed tourists.
The decision of the ministry in charge follows complaints by left-handed tourists, mostly Americans, who have difficulties to enjoy the delicacy after the first bite.
Everybody knows that after the first bite, one has to push the wrapping paper down and tear a little bit in order to be able to eat further. In fact, the good souvlaki eating practice is: bite–tear-push, bite-tear-push. And that’s apparently something that bothers left-handed souvlaki consumers as the paper is wrapped right-handed and the lose paper to be teared is on the wrong side of a left-handed man, woman or child.
After the complaints rose almost in the same pace as tourism grew in the last couple of years, authorities in Greece could not ignore the demand.
It is not clear whether roasted meat will rotate on the hot grill left- or rightward, whether the tomatoes and the onions will be chopped left-wise and the garlic sauce will be mixed with a spoon on the left hand.
However, the whole Greek attempt to offer a kind of souvlaki to please left-handlers is a positive step and a goodwill gesture towards the visitors who come and leave their money in our blessed country.
Much to KTG knowledge the special left-handed souvlaki will be offered only in touristic places souvlakeries and upon showing passport and accommodation document.
Greek left-handlers will continue to trouble with the bite-push technique because as everybody knows: Greeks do not complain anyway no matter what kind of left or right sh*t they have to deal with.
PS KTG is a left-handed person, who struggled all her life to be on the right part of a world not meant for her.

Is this an 1th of April joke?
It’s a good one
😊 thanks
Making life easier for Americans would not be my first choice. And anyway, this is obvious nonsense! April Fool!
are you sure you’re a lawyer?
🤣🤣🤣
I’ve also heard that they’ll be introducing salt pots without any holes for people who don’t like salt.
in the plans for 2027
Yes, I expect it will take that long. Quite a tricky manufacturing process, I believe.
