Another difficult day for the residents of the Greek capital occurred today as the public transport strike forced thousands of employees to use their private cars,the protest marches of several interest groups blocked main avenues of the city downtown and the falling rain gave the whole situation a grim dimension.
For two hours temporary workers at the Athens municipality demonstrated in front of the Parliament in company of riot police squads.
Some 1,000 students marched around the city protesting the merger of schools.
All these protest marches hindered and delayed the buses leaving thousand of Athenians stranded at bus stops.
