the French comics artist, the creator of the Iznogoud.
Jean Tabary, together with comics writer René Goscinny made millions of young and older all around the world to burst into tears of laughter following the adventures of the tiny sneaky man, plotting against Haroun el Poussah. However no matter how many tricks Iznogoud uses, at the end he fails to become…
How many times, I’ve read the Iznogoud’s adventures, I don’t remember. I started as a child, continued as teenager, as student, as professional, and probably will still keep reading them as a senior. I have them both in Greek and German, some even in English. They’re excellent exercise when you learn a foreign language and want to get used to everyday, common language. I’ve read them so many times, each and every printed book of the 13 I have. Then as Master Tabary once wrote “Every time you read these stories you discover a new detail” .

Jean Tabary passed away on August 18th, at the age of 81. That Iz-No-Good, definitely!
Thank you for all these years of entertaining, Master! I don’t need to mention how much he has influenced my creativity, do I?
