Following closely the developments in Tripoli, a group of members of the Libya community living in Greece, invaded this morning the Embassy of Libya in the north suburbs of Athens. Several men entered the embassy building chanting anti-Gaddafi slogan, took down the official flag of the country and hoisted the one of the anti-Gaddafi movement. They burned examples of Gaddafi’s “Green Book” and other books. They also raised a banner in the Libya school right next to the embassy.
Greek media report that the ambassador had not visited the embassy on Monday morning. The general consul did not resist neither clled the police.
Greek police remains outside the embassy building, watching the developments.
PS I assume my two examples of Green Book (in English and Portuguese -!-, incl Commentary in EN) will now have antique worth.
