Also Greek physicians join the club of striking labour forces oppsoing government plans to reforms the health system. The Panhellenic Physicians Association announced that doctors across the country will be on strike on Spetember 8th and 9 th 2011. To tell you the truth I don’t know, and it wans’t possible to find out, whether the strike refers to private physicians or also those working in state institutions.
Doctors accuse the government for bringing the health sector into an unbelievable bad situation for the Greek patient. On the other hand, Minister of Health Andreas Loverdos, said on Wednesday that no new doctors will be hired in the state institutions, but that private doctors may work in state hospitals one day per week.
Weird enough, I already heard of a private surgeon who was to operate a friend’s mother in a state hospital!
Sometimes I get the feeling that news are very complicated and I am unable to make a clue about what’s really going on.
