That Greeks get one tax hike after the other doesn’t mean that they lose their sense of humor. On Sunday evening, after the announcement of the extra property levy, a hashtag “Taxation Ideas” (#idees-forologias) was soon set up in Twitter and internet users didn’t miss the chance to give taxation ideas to Greek government.
“Tax all visits on friends’ and relatives’ properties” wrote @Ilias1972
@Georgetikis “Tax all who look like sailors but are not”
@zivas “Tax €1 for up to 500 followers, €2 5001-1000 followers etc”
@verakiba “Tax those who “like” their own comments on Facebook”
@_Stavroula “Tax men wearing V-decollete T-shirts and look awful”
@Stylesheet19 “Raise a Burberry-Levy”
@Yiannisvice “Tax You-Tube views”
@KaterinaaaG “Tax those preferring Merenda to Nuttella”
@kouramali “Install pace-counters and tax those with less than 1,000 steps per day”
@nonsap “Tax those eating donuts with merenda at Kilkis festival in front of those on diet”
@Empress_kailena “Tax white socks”
the list is almost endless…. the best was that one “Tax all those who build a house made of Lego or Playmobil when they were kids” by @provato.
