Athens: Acropolis on Strike too, Oct 12-13/11

Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Society, Tourism

The padlock was installed at the entrance of Acropolis already yesterday. This morning  riot police squads took position outside the archaeological site. The Archaeologists will move to Acropolis at 11.30 am to protest the “labour reserve”, the salary cuts with the new payroll, the merger of state institutions that leaves people without a work. Archaeological sites and Museums will be closed due to the strike on October 12 & 13, 2011.

Tourists who didn’t read KTG-blog,  climbed the holy hill of Acropolis, wondered finding it close and left for a refreshing walk among tons and mountains of stinky garbage….

Έφτασαν ως τον Ιερό Βράχο, αλλά βρήκαν πόρτες κλειστές

Think positive: Here we go loop de loop...”
