Pharmacies in Greece will remain closed next Wednesday, May 23/2012, as owners will launch a 24-strike to protest debts by the new health insurance umbrella EOPYY. Pharmacists say that EOPPY owes them 270 million euro, while insurance funds have outstanding debts 250 million euro from 2011.
Furthermore, pharmacists will not give prescription medication on credit as of May 23/2012. Insurers will have to pay by their own pockets and then request refund by EOPYY.
