Workers at urban train HSAP have decided to postpone their work stoppage from July 12th to July 17th 2012 due to the heat wave that grips Greece in general and Athens in particular.
The work stoppagewill take place from 12 noon until 04:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
The workers describe their mobilizations as a ‘warning’ one and complain that they and the pensioners of the sector are almost without social security after the integration of their insurance fund to the unified EOPPY.
Urban Train HSAP connects the port of Piraeus with downtown Athens and the northern suburbs of the Greek capital.
In a way, Greece is like the UK in the early 70s. The unions are digging their own grave with all those irresponsible strikes.

Abject nonsense. There is no comparison. I lived through the 1970s strikes in the UK, which you did not.
