Super luxurious Jumbo A380 landed in Athens Airport Eleftherios Venizelos on Friday noon. The two-storey airplane with first class private suites and Spa reached the Greek capital inaugurating the operation of Airbus A380 in the scheduled flights of Emirates Airline to Athens.
“Emirates Airline is to launch the Airbus A380 aircraft on its scheduled flights to Athens, the first airline to operate the superjumbo into the Greek capital, the Dubai carrier has confirmed.
“Emirates will operate our award-winning A380 service into Athens International Airport proving the company’s commitment to Greece,” said Richard Jewsbury, Senior Vice President Commercial Europe and Russian Federation.
However the arrangement is not permanent.
“Our customers in Athens are eager to try our A380 services and we have worked closely with the local authorities to make this possible. Although we have no immediate plans to operate an A380 on the route permanently, we remain dedicated to providing customers in Athens with convenient flight and onward connection times through our Dubai hub,” Jewsbury added.
