PM Samaras: “Greece’s Future & Euro-Zone Stability Depend on EU & IMF Decisions”

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras sent a message to European partners and the IMF urging them to take responsibility and move forward in implementing their commitments. Noting that Athens has fulfilled its obligations, he stated that its’ their decisions that will determine the future of Greece, but also the stability of the eurozone.

“Any technical difficulties in finding a technical solution do not excuse procrastination or delay in the Greek issue. Greece did what it should and what it had committed to do. Our partners together with the IMF have to do what they have undertaken as well. From the successful completion of this effort in the coming days, depends not only the future of our country but also the stability of the entire eurozone. ”

Tuesday’s Eurogroup meeting ended in deadlock as IMF and Germany were not able to reach an agreement on Greek debt sustainability and another Greek debt haircut demanded by the IMF. No decision was met on the disbursement of the 31.5 billion euro bailout tranche. NExt Eurogroup meeting is set for upcoming Monday, November 26th, 2012.

Antonis Samaras is leaving for Brussels today in order to join EU Summit on Thursday and Friday.

Tomorrow, Antonis Samaras will meet with Eurogroup head Jean-Claude Juncker.
