Cyprus lowers ATM withdrawals cap from €260 down to €100-€120

Central Bank of Cyprus decided Sunday afternoon to lower the cap for daily withdrawals from ATMs. According to local media, customers of Popular Banks will not be able to withdraw more than just 100 euro, while Bank of Cyprus customers will be able to withdraw up to 120 euro.

The decision was taken by Central bank governor Panicos Dimitriades and will be valid until Tuesday, when banks on Cyprus are expected to open again after a week of closure.

On Tuesday a new decision will be taken.
