Greek Seamen Federation extends strike for another 48 hours, Nov 4-5/2015

Greek Seamen Federation (PNO) extended its strike for another 48 hours. Ferries and boats will remain docked November 4th and 5th 2015, the strike is expected to end on November 6th at 6:00 a.m. The PNO mobilization started yesterday Monday with the first 48-hour strike which was supposed to end on Wednesday, November 4th at 6:00 am.

The seamen’s strike aims to protest the austerity and the loans agreements, the pension cuts, the unemployment rise, the labor relations and the uninsured work, the cuts in the welfare states, but also the upcoming austerity measures of the 3. bailout.  The Federation decided to extend the strike for another 48 hours after meetings with representatives of the government ended with “vague promises without substance,” as the PNO states in a press release.

PS we have no money to buy a ferry ticket anyway…

  1. So in a week or so headlines in Austria and Germoney will face a miracle: “Where are the refugees?”
If this gets public in the north it will be the first time since 6 years the usual commentators will not swear about the “lazy Greeks going on strike again”
