The Federation of Greece’s Taxi owners will launch a 24-hour strike 24 hour strike to protest the upcoming tax regulations. The strike will start at 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 14th and end at 5 a.m. on Friday morning.
According to the National Federation of Taxi Owners (POEIATA), the new regulations will “destroy the taxi industry that has already be decrepit.” The Federation claims that “if the planned regulations are implemented, the 30,000 taxis across the coutry will have to carry the burden of 20 million euro.”
Among others, they want Value Added Tax at 13%, tax-free at 12,000 euro annual income, lowering tax of 26%, social insurance contributions according to income.
I wonder what would happen if we all ceased ALL activity for 2 weeks…pretending to cease forever.
Greek population opts out.
