Greek passport is one of the strongest in the world allowing holders to travel visa free

Greek passport holders are among the most privileged in the world as they can enter 153 countries without a visa.

A ranking of the world’s most powerful passports has Greece in position number seven, according to the company that puts together the global index.

The Passport Index, compiled by consultants Arton Capital, ranks national passports by the cross-border access they bring, assigning a “visa-free score”, according to the number of countries a passport holder can visit visa free.

Greece’s passport is on par with Australia’s and New Zealand’s.

Greece’s global rank is 7th, individual rank is 23.

Greek passport holder can enter 121 countries without visa, while they can obtain a visa upon arrival in 32 countries.

Singapore topped the list with 159 countries, followed by Germany with 158 countries.

The US passport fell to sixth position after Donald Trump took office and Turkey and the Central African Republic revoked their visa-free status to US passport holders.

Singapore passport holders can enter countries like China, Cuba and Brazil visa-free, something that US passport holders cannot do.

On the top of the list stands Singapore, which can claim to having the strongest passport in the world, allowing its holders to enter 159 countries (more than any other country) either without a need for a visa or with a visa on arrival. (sources: greekguru.net & others)
