An Ancient Greek child left its footprint to eternity. Archaeologists in the excavation site in Ancient Olympia discovered the footprint of a child estimated to have been 6 years old when it stepped on a brick of clay still that was still fresh.
Archaeologists of the Institute of Hellenic Antiquities found the brick of clay in the excavation of a Roman burial monument.
The clay baked in furnace is measuring 22 cm x 22 cm x 4.5 cm.
On it there was the child’s footprint.
Based on the size of the footprint archaeologists suggest that the child was up to six years old.
The clay is estimated to be dated from the 2nd century A.D.
