Greek police arrested a Santa and confiscated his deer after animal welfare organizations complained he was keeping live deer in his grotto. The man had set up a festive event with nativity scene and Santa’s house near the exhibition centre HELEXPO in Thessaloniki. The Christmas scenery included also a deer couple and its calf.
Local animal welfare organizations com[plained about the use of live deer as it is against the Greek animal protection law.
Police arrested the organizer who was standing next to the animals dressed as Santa Claus and confiscated the deer that were returned to the farm they came from.

I guess this poor Santa will learn to use artificial animals once he comes out of jail. I’m sure he meant well.
