An envelope containing a bullet reached the office of General Secretary of Greek Finance Ministry Giorgos Mergos, who caused outrage last week with his statements on lowering the minimum wage. The envelope was found on Monday.
A similar incident occurred beginning of the month, also a Monday, when an envelope with a bullet and a threatening note reached the office of Finance Minister Yiannis Stournaras. The note was signed by an organization calling itself “Cretan Revolution”.
According to claims in the Greek media, the envelope to Mergos might have been sent from Crete as well. Questions are raised again about the security measures in the Finance Ministry.
