Ferry boat sailing in the Ionian Sea by 9-10 Beaufort (video)

Huge waves swallow again and again the bow of ferry boat ASTERION II as it sails from Italy to Greece.

Ferry boat “Asterion II” was sailing from Venice in Italy to Patras, Greece. While it was at the Strait of Otranto that connects the Adriatic with the Ionian Sea, powerful winds were blowing with intensity of 9 to 10 Beaufort.

The huge waves made the journey more than adventurous, as they fully covered the bow of the vessel.

It was up to experienced ferry captain Christoforos Skamagas and the crew to take the passengers safe to the next port.

It is not known, whether the passengers were still suffering from sea sickness when they touched solid ground.
