Extreme bullying in elementary school in Thessaloniki; police investigates

A case of extreme bullying has taken place in an elementary school in Thessaloniki with police to investigate the issue. Pupils of the 2. grade have forced a classmate to lick one of the school toilets after the girl lost a beat in a game with an unprecedented “punishment” for the loser.

The 7-year-old girl reported the incident to her mother who made the case public on Friday, although the incident took place last week.

School authorities, reportedly, white-washed any teacher of responsibility claiming that the incident took place in the toilets.

“The incident took place during the break, there was no control of the situation by the teacher because there is no supervision in the toilets,” the Regional Director for Primary and Secondary Education in Central Macedonia, Alexandros Koptsis, told media.

“It was an ugly game and not a bullying behavior,” the Director claimed adding that school authorities invited the parents of the children involved and the the matter was solved in consensus.

Apparently the consensus failed and the mother is planning to take legal action.

Koptsis said that the school authorities are investigating the case and disciplinary actions were to be taken if teachers had shown negligence.

Apparently the consensus failed and the mother is planning to take legal action.

Meanwhile, police and a juvenile prosecutor in Thessaloniki are investigating the case, as well.

The victim has been reportedly enrolled into another school.
