Ferries docked due to gusty winds, temperature drop, snow #StayHome

Stormy winds up to 9 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea forced authorities to halt sea traffic on Monday morning. A barometric low  strikes Greece since Sunday night with temperature drop, rainfalls especially in Crete and even snow in the North of the country.

Stormy to very windy northern winds blow in the Aegean Sea with intensity of up to 9 Beaufort, while in the Ionian Sea intensity of East winds reaches 8 B.

Ferries are docked in the ports of Piraeus and Rafina, schedules to Cyclades, Crete and Dodecanese have been cancelled.

Sea traffic in the Saronic Gulf is only through closed type ships.

Closed to sea traffic are the passages: Agia Marina – Nea Styra, Akritsa -Aidipsos, -Kavala-Prinos, Alexandroupolis-Samothraki and Rio-Antirio.

Weather improvement is expected as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

PS But why should one would want to travel in times of coronavirus when authorities urge everyone to #StayHome?
