The effects of the severe economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic are a cause of concern for Greeks much higher than the virus itself. According to a public opinion survey conducted by PULSE on behalf of Skai TV, 63% of respondents said that they are very worried about the coronavirus, when the rate was 78% a month earlier.
47% of respondents evaluated the decisions taken by the government as “positive” and 28% as “probably positive”. A majority of 75% said the government had won their confidence and 63% said the easing of the lockdown occurred at the right time.
To the question how the effects of the pandemic and measures will affect the financial situation of their families in the coming months, 66% of respondents estimate to a large extent (34%) to enough (32%), moderate 15% and little (8%). 6% of respondents said that they do not know / do not answer. In comparison, in the April survey a total of 63% had answered enough (24%) to a lot (29%), 19% of respondents had answered moderate, while 23% had answered little
Asked how much they are worried about the pandemic in Greece, 63% of respondents answered enough (30%) to a lot (33%), 20% moderate, and 13% a little (6%) and little to not at all ( 7%). 4% of respondents said that they do not know / do not answer. In comparison, in the April survey a total of 78% had answered enough (35%) to a lot (43%), 12% of respondents had answered moderate, while 7% had said a little (3%) and little to not at all (4%). In the March survey, 42% said they were quite or very worried about the pandemic.
In the survey findings it is clear that each age group has different priorities. It is indicative that about seven out of ten elderly people (72%) state that they are quite concerned about the effects of the disease on health. Young people, (73% of respondents) focus on finances, i.e. they are worried that the pandemic and the measures will greatly affect the financial situation of their family in the near future.

Age group 17-29: 58% of respondents said they were quite worried, 23% moderate, 15% had little or very little opr not at all, 4% said they did not know/ did not answer.
Age group 30-44: 55% of respondents say they are quite worried, 22% moderate, 16% a little, very little or not at all, 7% of respondents say I do not know / do not answer.
Age group 45-59: 64% of respondents said they were quite worried, 19% said they were moderate worried, 13% said little or not at all, 4% said they did not know / did not answer.
Age group over 60: 72% of respondents said they were quite worried, 16% moderate, 9% had little or not at all, 3% said they did not know or did not answer.
The economic effects of the pandemic and the measures on the family
When asked how the effects of the pandemic and measures have affected the financial situation of their family, 53% of respondents answered a lot (24%) to a lot (29%), 19% moderate, and 23% a little (12%). ) and little to no (11%). 5% of respondents state that they do not know / do not answer. In comparison, in the April survey a total of 57% had answered enough (24%) to a lot (33%), 18% of respondents had answered moderately, while 20% had answered a little (9%) and little to no (11%) . Also, 5% of the respondents stated that they do not know / do not answer.
The economic effects in the coming months: estimations
Age group 17-29: 73% of respondents said that the pandemic and measures will greatly affected the financial situation of their family, 2% moderate, 20% more or less and not at all, 5 % said I do not know / do not answer.
Age group 30-44: 68% of respondents said that the pandemic and their measures will economically affected their family quite a lot to very, 15% moderate, 8% a little and not at all, 9% said I do not know /I do not answer.
Age group 45-59: 66% of respondents said that the pandemic and their measures will affect enough to a lot in their coming months, 17% answered moderately, 12% a little to not at all, 5% said they did not know. I do not answer.
Age group over 60: 57% of respondents said a lot to very, 23% moderate, 14% little to not at all, 6% of respondents states I do not know / do not answer.
Regarding the implementation of the new protection (social distancing, hands washing, mask) during the lockdown easing, 44% of. respondents estimated that the majority of citizens will implement them a lot (36%), enough (8%), moderate (34%), a little to not at all (17%).
